This is the exact wall of text I left on the Facebook event planner, but I'm putting this here for those of you who don't partake in Facebook. I would like some feedback on this, and lots of people to say, "hell yes I'll have a feather."
Alright folks, a proposition for Helheim to make some extra cash on the side, and a portion of the proceedings (that doesn't include the money to cover the cost of the supplies) will go to those who planned the event for future event-planning and eventy-goodness.
A new-ish fashion out today is feather hair extensions. I would like to have my own little spot off to the side where I'm not in the way to sell them, and to make a profit. They're pretty cute, and have taken most of Edmond, Oklahoma by storm, so I have a fair amount of experience putting in the extensions. The only problem is that the extensions are pretty damn expensive for me to buy; I want to set this up to let people experience the wondrous feathers, however getting the feathers in the first place is going to take a huge hit on my wallet.
I want to know if anybody would be interested in getting a feather or two in their hair. Seventeen dollars in all, add five dollars for each additional feather. That's the average price for getting it done in a salon, and it goes up from there. If more than eight people confirm that they want to get it done, however, I would totally be willing to lower the price to fifteen, then maybe thirteen, and maybe even the base price of eleven, -if- enough people showed interest (eleven dollars for the feathers being like, twenty people interested). My only concern is breaking even (yes, eight people at seventeen dollars each equaling a hundred and thirty-six dollars would be breaking even) . Anything that I would make over the cost of supplies would be bomb, and a portion of the money made would be given to future Guilder events.
About the feather extensions::
1. These feathers are durable. They're made for withstanding hot water, shampoo, conditioner, hair color (I strongly advise against putting color on them, as whatever color you choose for the feather might become dirty-looking, or completely change), flat-irons, curling irons, everything.
2. They're put in with a bead clamp. This means that I simply clamp a bead with the feather on a small piece of hair. It will not come out until you want it to by either breaking the bead or, if you're impatient like me, cutting off the hair that it was on (again, itty-bitty piece of hair it's on).
2.5 I might be able to put them on clips so that they can be put in and taken out whenever, but that depends on interest in that particular option.
3. It's completely safe and will not damage hair.
4. They come in a variety of colors (natural, vivid, neon, whatever), and can be solid or striped.
